The Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce Presents a Member - to - Member Benefit Program

What is Shop the Cliff?

How does "Shop Oak Cliff" work?? A chamber member simply tells the Chamber what kind of incentive that it wants to offer (see Join Our Program page) and the Chamber extends those opportunities to its members. To get the incentive, our members will be issued a membership card and must present it to the participating business. In this way, the businesses can tailor their incentives to fellow members.

How will this be marketed?? The Chamber will launch a multi-faceted advertising campaign that will feature the charter participants in the program. The Chamber will: Advertise in local newspapers Add to its web site which already gets over 400 hits per week. Hand out flyers, email its extensive database and maybe even billboards. (depending upon economics...)

What kind of “incentives” are we really talking about?? Every business will style the incentive to fit their business plan. Creativity is allowed and encouraged!! Some examples of the commitments already made by our member businesses are as follows:

  • Local restaurants - 10-15% discounts on menu prices, Tuesday night special discounts
  • Accounting firm - free tax review
  • Local country club - $500 off of initiation fee
  • Realtors - free market analysis
  • Hotels - discounts on room nights
  • Printers - discounts on print jobs
  • Computer techs - free computer check-ups
  • Civil Engineer / Surveyor - $50 gift certificate to member restaurants

Do all members of the Chamber have to offer an incentive?? Definitely not. For some businesses no promotional inducements are needed or, sometimes, allowed. For those businesses, they should join the Chamber just to enjoy the benefits being offered by the other businesses. It’s a “no-lose” situation. Or better put, a “win-win” situation.
